Dr. Agnes Meyo, Psy.D

About Us

Dr. Agnes Meyo is a Clinical Psychologist, specializing in the testing and counseling of gifted adults, adolescents, and children. She currently serves as Board Member of the Gifted Resource Council, and President of the St. Louis Association for Gifted Education. Her research explores the development of the fortitude in the gifted.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Meyo graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University. She completed her MA in Psychology at Cleveland State University. She also obtained her doctoral degree from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Meyo then returned to her roots, where she completed her internship at the St. Louis Psychology Consortium. Finally, she earned a postdoctoral degree in Sport Psychology. Dr. Meyo has been treating clients/patients for over 30 years.

Wow! I'm very surprised to see the previous review. I am a transgender woman, and I've been seeing Dr. Meyo for about five years now. The first two years were before I transitioned, and I'll just say I was absolutely miserable. Once I made the decision to transition, Dr. Meyo was supportive right away. She has always listened to me, and she is always willing to learn more and works consistently to be a better ally--like all cis people should! I doubt most therapists receive a lot of training around trans issues or things like gender dysphoria, so the fact she takes it upon herself to further her education just because she cares really means a lot. I've never, ever felt like Dr. Meyo didn't accept me for who I am even when nobody else seemed to. Thanks to her, I'm more comfortable in my own skin than ever. She did accidentally mess up my pronouns sometimes in the beginning, but she always apologized right away. It's not an issue anymore. I OFTEN recommend Dr. Meyo to my friends, including other trans people. I don't know what I would do without her.

The Gifted Resource Council is hosting Dr Meyo as part of their Learning Labs Series for Fall 2026. Dr Meyo will present on how to enhance friendships for gifted kids.

Giftedness is rare, and finding true peers can be hard — in school, at work, and at home. Parents, partners, and spouses of gifted people often feel a version of that same isolation, without a name for it. These weekly groups are designed to build community for both experiences.
